Patrick Antonius vs durrrr in a Heads Up Battle

Filed under: durrrr, poker, poker news — June 24, 2009 @ 6:47 pm

FullTiltPoker.com has recently introduced a new informative site covering all the action of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an intense online heads up challenge highlighting some of the finest big money online players taking on the online poker star Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The new website section offers online poker players and fanatics the chance to follow this historical Full Tilt Poker Challenge and check out regular statistical updates. With this fresh “durrrr Challenge” site players can track all the details and check out each hand played during the challenge, and look at lots of stats, including how many hands were played, session time, amount won, average won during each hand and much more.

Around six months ago, the 23 year old online poker player handed out a heads-up challenge for any player with the cash, time and capability to accept it. Any poker star entering the challenge has to bet $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge specifies that at least 50,000 hands need to be played at the same time at 4 or more tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the durrrr challenge, the player who has more cash will take home the pool. Basically if you enter the challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will secure Tom’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by $1 then he will win your $500,000.

Thus far, a few poker pros have consented to play the “durrrr challenge”, including Full Tilt Poker Star Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, but, only Patrick Antonius has consented to the durrrr challenge. Until now, both poker stars have engaged in a total of 20,647 hands out of 50,000, with Dwan ahead $726,546 total.

Stunning New Encore LV Hotel-Casino to Open Soon

Filed under: Las Vegas, vegas, vegas restaurants — December 23, 2008 @ 2:41 am

steve wynn
LV magnate Steve Wynn certainly has something new to be eager about this Christmas season. Already investing nearly $2.3 billion, the brand-new hotel named Encore will be open for business in the next few days.

This posh casino-hotel is connected to the enormously popular Wynn Vegas on the Vegas Strip. While tons of Las Vegas, Nevada hotel and casino investors are doing the best they can to come across a direction to keep their hotel-casinos from closing, Wynn is doing pretty well with his $billion property investments.

This 2,000 room hotel is an incredible creation. The main focus of this tower will be the nightclub, XS. Wynn has seen recently that nightclubs are the biggest draw in Las Vegas, and not necessarily the hotels as they were years ago. He says that Las Vegas nightclubs usually generate more riches and are a massive attraction for the young set.

He has also put up a luxurious eatery adjacent to the XS nightclub. The inspiration for the restaurant is the popular Colombian painter, Fernando Botero this circular restaurant has a huge Botero sculpture as the focal point. Eventhough it is not as fantastic as the nightclub which it is joined to; the Botero steakhouse is intended to harmonize reasonably well with the ostentatious Las Vegas nightclub.
The inspiration behind XS and Botero is a type of St. Tropez vibe, where the bash carries on nonstop and the majority of the partying takes place near a pool or oceanside. Times are a changin’ in Vegas, where folks would rather parties to gambling in this day and age.

Robbie Knievel will Soar Over Mirage Hotel-Casino’s Upgraded Volcano

Filed under: nevada, sin city events, vegas — December 19, 2008 @ 3:02 am

mirage
With almost one full year of no activity, the Mirage Megaresort’s famous volcano will be revived larger and more stunning than ever before. The popular Las Vegas, Nevada hotel is trying really hard to interest as many sightseers as possible to examine their redecoration.

This New Year’s Eve, the daredevil and stuntman Robbie Knievel will take a shot at a motorbike jump over the Mirage Hotel’s artificial volcano. This stunt will celebrate the ending of a three-year restoration of the Vegas casino-hotel. During this time, the Las Vegas casino-hotel has put in around $110 million renovating their accommodations and suites.

This New Year’s Eve feat is supposedely Knievel’s last act in the U.S.. The feat will go on for 5 minutes and feature explosives and a high-tech soundtrack. The music for the feat has been written by Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. Robbie Knievel is the son of the deceased Evil Knievel-the first and most recognized daredevils.

The Vegas Mirage was developed in 1989 by Las Vegas magnate Steve Wynn and was considered Las Vegas, Nevada’s 1st megaresort. This reconstruction is one of a big group on the LV Strip in the past year. The hotel-casino expects that this stunt will pull tons of tourists to the LV hotel and casino. The scheme behind the overhaul is to do better than other famous Sin City hotel and casinos like the Bellagio hotel-casino.

De La Hoya against Pacquiao in Las Vegas this Week

Filed under: sin city events, vegas, vegas vacations — December 1, 2008 @ 11:52 pm

pacquiao
The Las Vegas event most boxing fans have been waiting patiently to see is finally taking place this week. Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya will box one of the world’s existing top fighters, Manny Pacquiao. This competition is on schedule for Sat. December 6th in the MGM Grand in Vegas.

Undoubtedly there has been much talk in Las Vegas about this match. The Golden Boy has trimmed his weight down to 147 lbs. to box as a welterweight, and there are those who think that The Golden Boy may not be as strong since the weight reduction. Manny Pacquiao has previously battled once as a lightweight and wants to compete now the welterweight group. Manny is also the current lightweight category champ , and is regarded by many professionals to be the best fighter of these times.

This is De La Hoya’s first journey back to LV for a fight since he competed against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year. This fight is without a doubt a sold out event for the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, Nevada. Sightseers to LV have reduced lately, but Las Vegas events like this competition really have a way of attracting people to Las Vegas.

This bout will definitely be one people will be talking about for years to come as it brings together the two finest fighters of the moment in a 12 round welterweight match. Oscar vs. Manny Pacquiao tickets are on sale right now. If you check out only one Sin City event during this year, this is without question the event to watch.

Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas Followers Amazed by Incredible Hotel Room Prices

Guests of next January’s C.E.S. Vegas may be in for a pleasant surprise. As a rule, close to this season it is almost unheard of to hit on a vacant LV resort hotel anywhere close to Las Vegas, Nevada, but the next C.E.S. Vegas is turning out to be an exception to the rule. A large part of the most famous hotel resorts on the Las Vegas, Nevada Strip have surprisingly lowered their hotel rates ,some as much as twenty percent.

Nearly 100,000 people occupy LV each year to examine the cutting-edge gadgets presented by the C.E.A.. The LV event is presented from Jan. 8-11 with the majority of the events being presented in the Venetian Hotel Resort and the Sands Las Vegas. This turns out to be a time period when coming across a decent hotel rate develops into almost a hopeless undertaking.

The Consumer Electronics Association stated a few days ago that a bunch of the Vegas Strip resort hotels have reduced their nightly rates, the majority of them by a pretty big amount. If you already booked your hotel room, you probably want to see if there are any better deals on Sin City rooms. A good example of this is: the Tropicana casino hotel has reduced their nightly room rate by around seventeen percent. Most of the Las Vegas, Nevada hotel casinos that operate near the C.E.S., have begun providing unique Consumer Electronics Show rates to the visitors of the LV event.

Most experts say that this decrease in Las Vegas, Nevada hotel rates is due to the detail that most of the electronics enterprises have had to lower the quantity of the workforce they are dispatching to the event. This drives the LV hotels to cut their prices to draw more visitors to their resort hotels during this show. Other experts suggest that it has more to do with the existing scarcity of sightseers to Sin City in contrast to other years.

The two sides of Las Vegas

vegas vacations
Sin City is showing many paradoxes lately. For the usual Sin City traveler, their cash is able to last a lot longer than in the past. As for the LV resident, these days are a little more tricky.

The Las Vegas visitors will be incredibly happy with the reduced costs of Sin City hotel rooms, even on the Vegas Strip. Not to mention the large amount of inexpensive Sin City show tickets, LV coupons, and even Las Vegas, Nevada food credits. Right now is positively a peak time to stay in Las Vegas for the budget vacationer. Obviously the economic condition does have an affect on some parts of Las Vegas for the travelers. For example, a few performances are forced to shut down or look for other theaters. “Stomp Out Loud” being the most evident model of this transformation, they are moving out of the Planet Hollywood casino venue in this coming January.

To see of how the United States’ financial condition is having an affect on the Las Vegas residents, you can get a picture from the same Vegas casinos, Las Vegas, Nevada hotel casinos, and LV restaurants that present these reduced rates and Las Vegas coupons. Recently Sin City has seen the total number of vacationers drop, which in turn negatively affects the standard maid, bellboy, or casino dealer. A good number of the major Las Vegas, Nevada Strip casino hotels have been required to lay off workforce because to this situation.

One thing is sure of this state; the prospect is very bright for Vegas sightseers. You are certain to find some hard to believe Vegas offers, and with the cost of gasoline decreasing these are terrific days to visit Sin City.

“Criss Angel’s BeLIEve” premiers in the Luxor Casino Hotel in Vegas

Filed under: nevada, vegas, vegas vacations — November 6, 2008 @ 6:59 pm

criss angel
People could possibly imagine that a thrilling blend of Criss Angel along with Cirque du Soleil could be a merger made in heaven, or in the case of Criss Angel, hell.

If you are any one of the loads of fans who have enjoyed this new Vegas show, titled Criss Angel BeLIEve at the Luxor Hotel, then you may have a distinct attitude about this new event. This newest Las Vegas event is really Cirque du Soleil’s sixth presentation to operate on the Vegas Strip.

The show commences rather identical to Angel’s routine magic events, with a touch of “Cirque”. Then unexpectedly a failed magic act takes Criss to a Wizard of Oz-like fantasyworld. There are even weird rabbits running around the stage, alongside Criss Angel’s everyday feats and illusions combined with Cirque du Soleil’s dramatic allure. The event climaxes with Angel actually tearing himself in half, in all probability the best part of this production.

One of the concerns, that most enthusiasts have come upon with the show, is the aspect that the magician has lots of dialogue pieces in the performance. Angel’s drama skills aren’t truly his area, and this is not usual in any of Cirque’s other popular Sin City productions.

All is not lost, though, in this fusion of Criss Angel with Cirque. Expect many brilliant feats featured in the production, and mixed with Cirque’s brilliance, it does have its outstanding and magnificent moments. The sales of tickets do not lie, as this production is turning out to be one of largest events that Cirque du Soleil has had in LV.

Cirque du Soleil which was created in Montreal, Canada combines this groundbreaking idea to their bill of LV events. Cirque’s other events are: “O” at the Bellagio Casino Hotel Vegas, Zumanity at the Zumanity Theater in the New York-New York hotel casino, LOVE in The Mirage Casino Hotel, Ka in the Ka Theater inside the MGM Grand Casino Hotel, and Mystere in the Treasure Island Casino.

How to find the top Vegas room and flight offers

Filed under: Las Vegas, vegas, vegas vacations — October 22, 2008 @ 2:35 am

las vegas hotels
Despite the fact that you are short on cash and want to get away for the weekend, Las Vegas, Nevada can be a great weekend getaway if you take your time and do some research. One thing to remember is to have a clear idea of what you want to visit, how long you will stay in Sin City, and where you will be spending the night. If you have a clear picture of these concerns, then your getaway to Las Vegas will unquestionably be one to remember forever.

As far as flights are concerned, this may take up most of your time to find the cheapest flight. Many airlines have been cutting down their flights recently, due in part to the economic and gas condition in the country. It may be a good idea to compare travel packages from a number of different companies; one example of these types of packages could be hotel + flight + car rental for a guaranteed price. Sometimes you may find that it is less expensive to buy these separately. The difference in cost you might find could be considerable.

One tip that you may find beneficial is to sign up for e-mail alerts from the hotels and airlines you are interested in. They will forward you an e-mail when their best deals are available usually two months ahead of time. It is a good idea to make sure that if you have already booked a hotel room, keep checking the rates that they are publishing until the day of your hotel stay. The costs could drop so if you see a price cheaper than the one you booked for, try to speak with the manager of the hotel about dropping the cost.

Try to remember that tourists heading to Vegas are less these days, Vegas hotels are looking for you. This could be a prime moment to get online and book a flight and hotel to Las Vegas.
